If I Were...

If I were a month, I'd be July
If I were a day of the week, I'd be Saturday
If I were a time of the day, I'd be sunrise
If I were a planet, I'd be Earth
If I were a sea animal, I'd be a dolphin
If I were a direction, I'd be south
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be my little hutch in the kitchen (the chicken coop as my hubby calls it!)
If I were a liquid, I'd be Diet Coke
If I were a gemstone, I'd be a red ruby
If I were a tree, I'd be a Pink Dogwood
If I were a tool, I'd be a hammer
If I were a flower, I'd be a stargazer lily
If I were a kind of weather, I'd be a sunny pool day
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a guitar
If I were a color, I'd be red
If I were an emotion, I'd be satisfaction
If I were a fruit, I'd be an apple
If I were a sound, I'd be laughter
If I were an element, I'd be oxygen
If I were a car, I'd be a SUV
If I were a food, I'd be a hamburger
If I were a place, I'd be a beach
If I were a material, I'd be cashmere
If I were a taste, I'd be sweet with a touch of salt
If I were a scent, I'd be the smell of a horse show (pepi, ponies, leather, fly spray... takes me back)
If I were an object, I'd be a candle
If I were a body part, I'd be legs
If I were a facial expression, I'd be a smile
If I were a song, I'd be How 'Bout Them Cowgirls by George Strait
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be a pair of Cowboy Boots

I hope that you all have a great day! Kara @ Pickerill Prattle posted this today and I agree with her that its a great way to start a Thursday. I actually left a lot of her answers the same. Please feel free to play along or visit Kara or the originator of this post Southerland Living!

Getting to know you :)

Well Guys,

I'm having a hard time finding things to write about these days... Things have been really quiet in BG... Well, they're not quiet in my house at the moment because my hubby is sitting here screaming at the Cardinals game on the TV. They seem to be playing like a totally different team than they did in the first half.

Anyway, since I have a complete lack of topics to post about I thought that I would follow in the footsteps of Kara from Pickerill Prattle and play a little Getting To Know Me game...

1. How often do you change your sheets??
I try to change them once a week but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Usually though, once a week. I have lots of sets of sheets but I hate to fold them so I usually just wash a set and then immediately put them back on.

2. When is your birthday??
July 12.

3. Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life??
Well, I'm like Kara and have real life friends that blog but I have never met a bloggy friend.

4. Brad Pitt or George Clooney??
George, I think. Brad has kind of turned into a freak.

5. If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be??
haha... I think I would make it where I could eat whatever I want and not have to work out!!! I know that this isn't the kind of answer this question wants, but its the best I could think of!

6. How often do you wash your hair??
Every other day. My hair needs the humidity to function and blowing drying it a bunch makes it staticy.

7. Do you have pets??
YES! I have a couple and they are like my children.

My big child is my Max Man and he is an American Quarter Horse gelding. He lives in WKY so I don't get to see him much which means I miss him a lot!

The small child is my Scoot dog. She is a hood rat from way back! haha!

I thought that I would post this cool picture for you guys to let you know another thing that I miss about summer. This hot air balloon flies all over BG all summer long. One day, Drew came running into the house while I was cleaning and said "come outside, NOW!". The hot air balloon was right over our house. It was so close that you could hear them blowing air into it and see the men flying it waving at the neighbors. It was pretty cool.

I hope that you all have a great afternoon! Keep Erin at Kentucky Newlyweds in your thoughts as she prepares for Baby Ty this week. She is scheduled for a c-section on Friday if she doesn't go into labor on her own first! Congrats Erin!

A Couple Random Things...

Well, Drew and I went to The Brickyard this evening for our anniversary and it was amazing. Their cannelloni is probably the most fantastic thing that I have ever eaten.

Since this is a random post, I thought I'd like to mention a couple of give-aways that my bloggy friends are having this week... First... Jenna at Jenna's Jargon is having a Mary Kay Satin Lips giveaway which y'all should definitely check out. I know that this time of year my lips are a definite mess and its sure not from all of my Valentines Day kisses (hahah!).

Secondly... Pippy from Life From Pippy's Perspective is having a giveaway for a book by Beth Moore titled "So Long, Insecurity". If you follow Kelly's Korner, than you know that she has been talking about this book and discussing seeing Beth in person soon. Besides all that, I know that I definitely have had times in my life when I have dealt with insecurity. I think that there are so many women in the world who deal with all these same issues.

Also, I was lucky enough to have been given an award by Jenna @ Jenna's Jargon...

The award that I received was the GLOB or "Gorgeous Ladies of Blogging" award! How fun!

I'd like to pass this award on to...

Anyway, I hope that you all have a wonderful night! We are watching the Kentucky game (which you know that since we are watching it, my dear hubby is hoping for a Loss!) and then I will be heading to be shortly! Good Night!

I told you all about my flowers from yesterday and suggested that you guess why I got them... So here is the answer...

Today is the second anniversary of the Richey's from BG... Obviously not the blog, but today is our second wedding anniversary!

Happy Anniversary, Drew!
I love you and can't believe I'm fortunate enough to spend my life with you!

I Love Lilies

So today when I got home from WKY, I was greeted with these... Can you guess why? I'll give you a hint: They aren't for Valentines Day!

Hilltopper Basketball!

Oh gosh, sorry guys... Its been a while since I posted. This has been kind of a rocky week and I'm really glad its almost Friday.

Oh well, enough whininess (right Bananas?? HAHA!) We got offered 3 tickets to the WKU game tonight and thought that they were absolutely too good to pass up! Drew, Kellen, and I had a fantastic time (with the exception of having a 3 year old shoot spit wads at me... no I didn't know him and its a good thing he was cute because I might have done more than fussed at him otherwise!)!!!! We were excited to see a Hilltopper win and a great game.

It was also interesting because Courtney Lee (part of our Sweet Sixteen team and now a member of the New Jersey Nets) was there and it was interesting to see him get mobbed by the fans. He got a standing ovation when they showed him on the big screen. Drew and I loved watching the NBA finals last year when he played for the Magic... I became an NBA fan just so that I could watch C-Lee!

This is my new man, Sergio Kerousch. He had been injured and missed a big chunk of the season. I'm glad he's back even though he performed a mean Miley Cyrus dance while he was on crutches LOL!
Big Red - he requires no introduction!

Oh, and in case you needed a reason to laugh this evening. My husband bought a wet suit (and yes, he would kill me in my sleep if he knew that these were on here...) and it came in the mail this afternoon. So without further ado, here is my little triathlete all dressed up for the ridiculous swim in his half Ironman. Too bad its over 6 months away. At least he'll be prepared!

Oh well, that's enough for tonight. Please do me a favor though, say a little prayer for my friend Richie who passed away this week. We used to work together and he probably was one of the best people that I have ever met. His smile, attitude, and love for life were infectious and I can't believe that the world lost such a great friend at such a young age. We'll miss you buddy!

Gigi's Cupcakes...

Well, I am experiencing a sugar rush. Kellen and I went to lunch this afternoon (Kyoto's, YUM) and decided that when we left we just had to go and try out Gigi's Cupcakes. First of all, there were about 10 people in line in front of us and second of all, they had the cutest most amazing looking cupcakes I had ever seen! They are big with lots and lots of icing, sprinkles, candy toppers, etc... It looked fantastic. So after deliberating for a few minutes, Kellen and I both decided that we wanted Red Velvet Cupcakes. They put them in the cutest little boxes and we headed back to the bank with our cupcakes in tow.

I finally broke down and ate my cupcake (granted, I've only been back at the bank for about 20 minutes... I have -0- will power!) and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Honestly it was great. It had cream cheese icing, cute little red sprinkles, and great red velvet cake!
Check out the cute little white chocolate heart on top... That's how I started my cupcake experience and I knew it would be amazing after that!
However, now I am miserable. SOOOOO FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.... Between my Kyoto's and Gigi's, I think I might die before the afternoon... Hopefully, I can make it spin class because after the start I've had today, I really need to burn off some extra calories!

Adios friends! I hope y'all have a great afternoon :)

In a funk...

Do you ever get that way? I've been in one of those moods where I just feel really BLAH... Its frustrating because honestly, there is not one thing in my life that is bad. Everything is good. I got some huge praise at work last week, my hubby is so sweet, my family loves me, and for some reason I'm still just having one of those weeks.

I know that this sounds really dramatic and that makes me feel bad because I know that I am very fortunate. Maybe its the weather, who knows.

Anyway, I'm going to get to work... I just needed to vent a little...
