Good Morning!

Hey guys...
I hope that you are all doing amazing... Things here in BG have been pretty fast and furious. Our house has been on the market for 6 days and we've had 3 people visit, 1 scheduled to visit tomorrow, and we received our first offer this morning. Unfortunately for them, they'll have to do a little better. The home buying front is moving quite a bit slower. However, we knew that would happen going in to this. We have made an offer on a Short Sale through Bank of America and we were warned in the beginning that it could be a very long process.

The weather this week is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous. They are even calling for 80's by the end of the week. Needless to say, I'm pretty stinking excited. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend lots of time outside this week taking the little Scoot girl for walks.

Anyway, I'd better get back to work but thought that I'd leave you all with this today... Its pretty cute :)

HOLY CRAP...

So... we're receiving the paper work today to put our house up for sale and put an offer in on another house.

How did this happen? I'm not prepared!

PLEASE... Pray that I don't lose my mind!

BUT... I am sooooo excited :) I will share more details as it all pans out. I really don't want to get ahead of myself but our parents came and looked yesterday and they love it as much as we do :)

The missing part of me...

So, I wonder pretty often if its a bad thing to identify yourself by an activity. I tell Drew all the time that every part of my life is complete except this, I don't have a pony. Really, I do have a pony, I have my Max Man... but he's retired. I want a show pony.

Anyway, back to the identification part... I was never a real stand out at anything in school. I'm not athletic, I was always pretty smart but never the smartest, and I wasn't ever a teacher's favorite. I wasn't one of the "popular" kids in school. What made me different (or so I thought) was the ponies.

Now, I miss this. Horses have always been my therapy. My first semester in college, I had a Basic Equitation class (my PE credit, way cool) and equestrian team practice that took me to the school farm four days a week. It was awesome. If I had a bad day, rough classes, or dorm room drama it never really seemed to matter. I could escape to the farm. The same was true in high school... Boy drama could always be over come with a good ride...

I know that not having my ponies is not permanent. I will have it some day. Drew is completely supportive of this and wants it for me. I think he knows how bad I need it. Right now is just not the right time, so I wait. AND WHINE... I really like the two that are pictured on this page. The one on top is a gelding named "Remarkably Good" and the mare on the bottom is Miss Lazy Version. I'd buy one pretty similar to them if I ever won the lottery....
Anyway, I just needed a whine post... Sorry if you read this whole random thing!
This is for the girls in square toed boots and 20x hats
For the girls who skip the malls in favor of tack stores
For the girls who can smile like a beauty queen after three hours of sleep
The ones who will bleed, sweat, and cry for just one more point or that blue ribbon
This is for the girls who can drive their own rigs
This is for the girls who can communicate with eyes, body, and spirit, words just aren't enough
For the girls who put their makeup on over dirt and sweat
And smile like a million bucks in rhinestones and chaps, no matter how tight their hat is
For the girls who rack up impressive roaming bills on 1am phone calls from tiny hotel rooms
This is for the passion we hold, the drive we all share, and the will to win
We know about love and loss in a way that most will never understand
We know how it feels to close your eyes at night and still feel like you're loping...

Our Little Friend...

Drew and I were packing stuff to go home on Saturday morning and I heard some ruckus in one of the trees in the front yard. I looked up and saw this little guy, going to town on one of my trees!

Oh, and check out the buds! Looks like spring is on its way!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi Guys!
How was y'alls weekend? We had a great one and celebrated Drew's birthday all weekend long. Friday night we went to Samurai, had sushi, and went bowling. It was lots of fun. I'm a horrible bowler, but it was still great hanging out with our friends.

Saturday and Sunday we were in WKY hanging out with our families for Drew's birthday.
We had a great weekend with amazing weather. We were outside taking walks with Scoot and loving on the horses! Hope y'all had an awesome weekend and that you have a great start to the week!

Sarah & Stu Pay got us a couples massage for Drew's BDay/our anniversary! How fun!
Kellen and her Drew went with us!

If we weren't leaving the country...

the first week of May, I'd sure be wanting to go to the Derby. I don't understand how a Kentucky girl like me has managed to live 25 years and never watched the Derby except on TV. I guess that I won't even get to watch the Derby this year because it is the day that we leave for Jamaica. Guess I shouldn't complain!

Anyway, on to the point of this post... Drew was at Dillards last night looking at shoes and belts and I glanced over and saw that there were Derby hats on display... So I definitely had to try them on! HAHA!
I really liked this hat and thought that since it was black it would be easy to match with an awesome sundress!
This was Drew's favorite but I can't imagine finding a dress to go with it! Even though it was really cute :)

I just realized that I look really funny because my face is ducked down in all these pictures. That was the only way that I could get pictures of how great the decorations were on the hats. I guess that I'll have to wait and get a Derby hat for next year.
Oh, and you do get weird looks when you're wearing big hats in Dillards and taking pictures of yourself in the mirrors!
Have a great day!

What we've been up to...

Hi Guys!

I hope that you all are doing well... Here at the Richey's we are doing just fine. I spent Friday night hanging out in Louisville with my cousin Jennifer. We celebrated her birthday just a little early.

We went and ate dinner at Buca Di Bepo's (sp??) and discovered on the place mat that if you were having a birthday, they would feed you a cupcake. So, of course, Jen & I split a cupcake! It was pretty tasty :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you lots!

Drew's work had a get-together for some clients last night and we went to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (T-PAC) for the musical Momma Mia. We absolutely had so much fun! It made for a late night, we didn't get back to his office until about 11:30, but it was absolutely worth it!
Oh, and I've been trying to learn to not fight my curly hair. I have been wearing it curly a lot and am actually starting to really like how it looks. This picture is of me with super curled hair. I guess its kind of embarassing to say how I've been curling it, because I'm pretty sure that everybody quit using hot rollers a million years ago. Oh well, I've always moved a little slow! HAHA!
What do you guys think???
