Crazy weekend, COMPLETE...

Well, we survived. Honestly, at 4:15 Saturday morning, I wasn't sure that I would be able to say that at the end of the day. Of course, I feel like a horrible person complaining about the early morning since all I did was ride in a car. Drew drove the car and then swam 300 meters, rode a bicycle 16 1/2 miles, and then ran 3 miles. Yet, I continued to whine that I was tired. I did take lots of pictures, maybe that's what wore me out. HAHA!

He did great though (I'm pretty sure that I told y'all he would) and finished the race in 1 hour and 32 minutes. His goal was to complete it in 1 and 1/2 hours, but he is pleased. He was also 4th place in his age group, which for somebody's second race, I think is fantastic! I know the first few years I showed horses I lost a whole lot more than I won.
The swim, I'm pretty sure I'd drown...
We came home after watching part of the awards ceremony and proceeded to almost immediately head to tailgating. For some reason, I thought that we were going to get to take a nap but that obviously didn't happen. I have a bunch of tailgating pictures but we should probably save those for some other time, because this might end up being a novel anyway... HAHA...

Sunday we went to Mount Vernon, Illinois and picked up my new horse trailer. It is absolutely sooo cute. I love it! We sold our big trailer because A: it was entirely too big... I'm not sure we ever hauled 4 horses in it anyway and B: Drew and I would've had to have bought at least an F250 just to pull it and we really can't afford that just yet. So when we sold the big trailer we set out to find a little trailer. We ended up ordering one because we couldn't find anything that we liked used. And here it is, I think its adorable :)

I'm not going to lie, I definitely felt cool pulling this thing home. I was always a little intimidated to drive pulling the other trailer (it was twice as big as this one) but this one just seems so much more manageable. Plus, Dad is a great co-pilot... He lets me drive so he can stretch out in the passenger seat and nap. Mom, on the other hand, makes me a nervous wreck.

So anyway, I guess I should end this now... Like I said, kind of like a novel. Drew and I are starting this week as happy campers though... His triathlon is done and I might, might just be one step closer to showing horses again!

Y'all have a great week!

BTW: What is up with Kanye West... Why does he suck? Poor Taylor :(

It's not about who wins or loses, it's all about the tailgating :)

Hello Bloggers,

So this could end up being the world's craziest weekend. Drew and I are going to be all over the world between early Saturday morning and Sunday night. I guess we should start at the beginning... Saturday morning at 4:45, Drew and I are leaving for Lebanon TN for his triathlon. Yes, 4:45... His race starts at 7 and will probably last about an hour and a half. That is his goal at least. I am sure that he will do so well, he has definitely worked hard for it.

After that, we will be headed to WKU for the football game! We are so excited for the first game of the year. I never tailgated until Drew and I started dating. He likes to think he introduced me to it. HAHA... Anyway, check out this old school picture of us from our first homecoming together in 2005! Neither of us were Greek, so we both just dressed comfortably (thank goodness) and had a great time! The difference this time is that Drew actually wants to stay and watch the game since we are playing USF. I personally think that we, Drew especially, will be absolutely exhausted but we'll just have to see how that goes.

Sunday is the last day and really all that we have to do is drive west and then ride with my family. We are going to get my new horse trailer! I AM SO EXCITED... SO EXCITED... I guess that would seem a little odd to most but I feel like this is one step closer to showing again. I can't wait! Plus, it's going to be sooooo cute (don't worry, I'll post pictures!)

Oh well, I hope that you all have a great weekend too. Are any of you planning on tailgating anywhere?

Mammoth Cave & Vette City!

Hello All! Sorry for the lack of a blog lately...

Drew and I had an AWESOME day today. We took Scooter to Mammoth Cave and hiked through the national park. What fun! Really, I'm not sure that anybody had as much fun as Scoot... she swam in a big spring, swam in the Green River, ran wild through the wilderness, and ended up completely covered in stick tights and cockle burrs... I told Drew more than once that I was very glad I had just dosed her with Frontline. Needless to say, she and I are taking a bath shortly!

We had an awesome time and hiked between four and a half and five miles. We also packed a picnic lunch and ate at a camp ground in the park. Drew and I said multiple times "Why have we never done this before???" Hopefully we will go many more times in the future, it was great!

If you recognize this view, its the one that they show on the news each morning... we found the camera!

Air Scooter!

One more interesting thing to mention about this weekend is that it is the National Corvette Homecoming in BG... I'm convinced these people are insane. Not to mention that there are now millions (ok, maybe slightly exaggerated) of crazed Corvette owners here in Vette City. Its bizarre, they are from everywhere. I've seen so many from California that it's not even funny. This picture shows a view of the museum from I65 and doesn't really do it justice. It is nuts.

Oh well, I hope that everybody has a great three day weekend! We are headed west in the morning and should be back soon!

Take a deep seat and let 'em WALK ON!

Hello Bloggers!

Well, Kellen and I made it back from the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration this afternoon. I had never been to see any of the show and it was really lots of fun! I even got to ride one of the flat shod horses this afternoon. I definitely felt a little awkward because even though I have ridden horses my who life there horses are much different than mine!

If you can see in the picture, they took an extra blue ribbon that was laying around and put it on this poor mare's bridle. I decided that they "tied" me first because I didn't fall off! We had a great time and I learned a lot about Walking Horse shows. I am sure that I drove Kellen crazy because every five minutes I had a different question. She was very patient however and an awesome teacher! Check out the pictures below from our weekend.

Anyway, we are back to the real world as of right now. Drew and I are figuring out our plans for the week and as of right now, our priority is the grocery store. I mean, there is NO FOOD in our house. I expect that we'll take care of that tomorrow evening.

I must say though, my priority for this week is to NOT eat like I ate this weekend. Horseshows really should revolve around horses and not the food!

I hope that you all have a great week!

Our fun weekend...

Hello All!

I hope that you all had a great weekend like I did. The bad thing is that I always feel like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. Very sad, I know. We didn't do much Friday night and Saturday I woke up early to head to the lake. I'd like to say that I was the motivated one in the Richey household, but I definitely do not hold that title for Saturday. My crazy hubby rode his bicycle 44 miles. Yes, rode a bicycle 44 MILES... Crazy. I am actually very proud of him, he is training for triathlon number 2. He did his first race in June and the next one is next month in Lebanon TN. I know that he will do great!

Anyway, I made it to the lake about lunch and spent the rest of the day with my family. I didn't take any pictures of Scoot, but I wish I had. She played in the lake for a solid hour, barking at the waves and chasing any stick that was thrown. She had SOOOOO much fun. However, she was absolutely filthy. She was covered in lake water and sand. Needless to say, I had to give her a bath outside of the motorhome because Mom wouldn't let her in!

Anyway, this should be a good week, and I'm excited about this weekend's plans... I am heading to the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration with my friend Kellen... I know, walking horses... pretty crazy coming from a Quarter Horse girl!

Oh well, have a great week!

oh gosh... I guess I have already sucked at this :)

Well Blogger Land,

I guess that I have done a really crappy job at updating this thing. I hate to admit it, but I've been a little wrapped up. Really, what I have been wrapped up in is pretty silly, but apparently its very normal. Everybody at my work has gone through it and so have most of my friends. That makes me feel less like a dork. We'll see if you can figure it out by this picture...

Well, if you guess Twilight then you are absolutely correct! It started on our way home from Florida and has pretty much lasted until about now. I have read all four books, listened to the soundtrack more times than necessary, and watched the movie about 3 times. Yes, something's wrong with me... but really, I love Edward :)

Anyway, enough of that. We bought a new toy last night. We jumped on the PS3 (Playstation) band wagon because it seemed like a better option than just buying another Blu Ray player... That, of course, is a whole nother story! Drew is in love and I have no idea how to use it!

Scooter & I are going to the lake this weekend to stay a night with Mom & Dad. That should be fun and maybe I'll get motivated and take my camera to take pictures of my little wild animal. I know that she and Rudy will have a huge time!

Have a great beautiful weekend!
